Who we are
Whittney Gaines, born in California, but raised in Columbus, IN, Whittney received her BS In Communication Studies and Criminal Law from Indiana State University in 2008 and is set to begin her Graduate program in May 2021 where she is seeking her Masters in Special Education. Whittney has an extensive career in the social work field which has included employment with Turning Point DV Shelter, Department of Child Services and Brighter Days homeless shelter, where she currently serves as the Supporting Housing Case Manager. Whittney now also teaches Digital Communications at a middle school in Columbus, IN. When she is not teaching, she spends her time with her husband and 5 children or advocating for social justice with one of many community organizations that she belongs to in an executive capacity.Whittney and her husband Coron are therapeutic foster parents and typically foster children with special needs. They are the proud parents of 5 minor children, ages 3-9 and 2 of their children were recently adopted. The birth of Cordell changed their life in so many ways and they are so honored to be able to bring Cordell and Friends to life in an effort to support other families.
